Howdy Everyone!

Welcome to the first edition of what I’m calling field notes  - but it’s really just an update on shows I'm playing, how the record release is coming, and other news and musings!

I’m doing two more live events here in Santa Fe before I hit the road for the rest of the summer:

I’ll be up in New England later this summer, spending time in Maine and doing a few radio appearances here and there along the way to pre-promote my new album Open Skies. Watch my Calendar page for details and updates.

Record News:

The record is mixed! Thanks Rip!

I can't wait for y'all to hear it.

Thanks to the whole crew who contributed at Il Podere di San Colombano in Lucca (from left…yours truly, Federico Ciancabilla, Rip Rowan, Vanessa Peters, Daniele Fiaschi)

I also got great news late last month that Idol Records is going to release and distribute the album digitally and via streaming! We're aiming for an official release date of January 1st.

Dog News:

Tootsie is all set for her big summer road trip back east. She'll get to camp in the Adirondacks, and spend time with friends all across New England before visiting Acadia National Park and seeing the beauty of Mount Desert Island.

This'll be her first really big van trip since she came to live with us last fall. She loves traveling in the van and we can't wait for her to see Maine.

Speaking of new Dog Friends I've Made, we crossed paths with TRAVI$ on a dog walk on the morning of July 4th. He came back to our place for about an hour while waiting for his human to come get him. TRAVI$ is a wise and peaceful soul with a powerful presence. He reminded me of my original road-dog buddy from long ago…a large Chow/Pit mix that was found as a puppy on the side of the road…and in a way, TRAVI$' visit was a message from my old buddy Wolfgang, a message that he's still around, that we're still sharing a path…

Here's Wolfgang on tour with Adam's Farm in the early 90's - probably somewhere in Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana. We travelled in my old Silverado pick-up for the first few years and Wolfgang was along for the ride - the original road dog! Ahhh…life in your early 20s. I know our pets of that era loved us and that we loved them…I just hope they understood that we were young.

Tell your friends!

You can subscribe to my email list here, I promise it won't be annoying. You'll get these updates delivered right to your inbox! I'm aiming to publish one of these about every other month or so. Semi-monthly I guess(?).

And - let me know if there’s a cool place you think I should play a gig in your neck of the woods. Hope to see some of you this summer!

Much love to y'all,

JW - Santa Fe, NM - July 12

And here's one more of Wolfgang back in his glory days…
